I was diagnosed with mouth cancer after a little growth on one of my saliva ducts blew up overnight. I went to Shands in Gainesville and was seen by Dr. Villaret. He and his crew removed all the affected tissue under my tongue and replaced it with a skin graft from my thigh. Also they removed a vein from my forearm to tie to the graft and somewhere else so as to animate the graft. Otherwise I wouldn't be able to move my tongue to speak or to eat. That was back in 2004. God bless Dr. Villaret.

Dr. Douglas Villaret graduated from University of Cincinnati College of Medicine in 1992 before completing a residency in ENT / Otolaryngology at University of Cincinnati in Cincinnati, OH in 1997. He then completed a fellowship in Head & Neck Cancer / Microvascular & Reconstructive Surgery at University of Washington.
Dr. Villaret has three offices in North Carolina and South Carolina where he specializes in ENT / Otolaryngology and Head & Neck Surgery.
