Dr. Tuggle was Vice Chair of Surgery and Chief of Pediatric Surgery at the OU Medical Center until 2013. He and his wife moved to Austin to be near their son, daughter-in-law and grandchildren. His current interests are trauma and acute care surgery in children.

Pediatric surgeons are to children what general surgeons are to adults, performing a wide range of surgeries on the organs and structures of the abdomen. Because children are still maturing and growing, their surgical needs are much different from that of an adult. Dr. Tuggle has been specifically trained to take these and other factors into account when planning for and performing pediatric surgeries.
