Bio

Danielle Holmes, MD, is fulfilling her lifelong dream of providing personalized medical care to a variety of women as a board-certified OB/GYN at Capital Women’s Care in Arlington, Virginia. Dr. Holmes enjoys caring for women in all stages of life and maintains ongoing interests in a variety of gynecologic issues from adolescent health through menopause. Dr. Holmes' path to medicine started at Xavier University of Louisiana in New Orleans, where she graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor’s Degree in chemistry. Then, she returned to her home state of Connecticut to complete her medical degree and residency training in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine. During her time at the University of Connecticut, Dr. Holmes received several awards, including the Charlotte Johnson Hollfelder Award in Women’s Health, the John Dempsey Hospital Auxiliary Award, and the Surgical Simulation Award in Laparoscopy. Dr. Holmes’ interest in international health has taken her all over the world, including breastfeeding research in Tanzania and cervical dysplasia research in Nigeria. These experiences granted Dr. Holmes a broader perspective and greater understanding of the universal nature of women’s health.   When she is not with patients, Dr. Holmes loves spending time with her family and friends. She’s also an active member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and enjoys reading, traveling, and pottery.
