Dr. Stokes is a co-founder of Loudoun Women’s Healthcare Associates. Practicing in Loudoun County for over 20 years he has delivered over 4000 babies.

Currently, he is affiliated with Inova Loudoun Hospital Center and is Chairman of the department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Dr. Stokes is Board Certified and has a special interest in minimally invasive surgery and pelvic floor disorders. He is one of the first Gynecologic Robotic Surgeons at Inova Loudoun Hospital and has performed over 400 laparoscopic and robotic surgeries. He was the first Gynecologist to perform a Single Site Hysterectomy at Inova Loudoun Hospital.

In 2015 Dr. Stokes was very happy when he received the award of “The Best OBGYN in Loudoun County” by Leesburg Today readers.

Dr. Stokes attended Meharry Medical College in Nashville Tennessee and graduated with Honors in 1981. He did his internship at University of Hawaii in the Department of Surgery. Afterwards he moved to Mobile, Alabama to work in a Community Health Center for the National Health Service Corp. While in Mobile he developed the first Prenatal Care program for the Clinic. Upon fulfilling his obligation, he completed a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Howard University Hospital in 1990. After completing his residency; he was invited to join the University staff. After 2 years as a clinical Instructor he opened his private practice in Sterling.

As a community physician, Dr. Stokes takes pride in having been a founding member of the Loudoun Community Health Center (known as Health Works of Northern Virginia), Medical Director of First Choice Woman’s Health Center (Mosaic) and a referral Gynecologist for the Loudoun Free Clinic.

He lives in Leesburg with his lovely wife Sherry and their daughter Brianna. His son Ramon lives in New York.
