About Dr. Manno

Bio

I specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of children with blood and bone marrow problems. I am particularly interested in supporting patients and families dealing with bleeding disorders, such as hemophilia and von Willebrand disease, and with conditions that cause low levels of oxygen or iron in the blood, such as anemia, sickle cell disease, and thalassemia. I also have a longstanding interest in performing and studying blood transfusion in infants and children. A childs family is very important in every aspect of his or her life”especially when the child requires medical attention. I am dedicated to making sure children and their families have a clear understanding of my diagnostic impressions, the laboratory testing I request, and the treatment plan I recommend. Our team provides a full range of services to patients and their families, including social work, play therapy, financial counseling, and nursing support. This team approach is embraced in all of the care we offer to children through our Childrens Services programs at NYU Langone.
