Dr. Carlos Gomez-Meade was born and raised in Brownsville, Texas. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame and went on to earn his medical degree from the University of North Texas Health Science Center in Fort Worth.
Dr. Gomez-Meade completed an internship and family medicine residency at Broward General Medical Center in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and became board certified in family medicine by the American Board of Osteopathic Family Physicians.
Dr. Gomez-Meade then went on to complete his dermatology residency at Broward General Medical Center where he also served as chief resident. Upon completion of his dermatology residency, Dr. Gomez-Meade became board certified in dermatology by the American Osteopathic College of Dermatology.
He completed a Procedural Dermatology and Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Surgical Oncology Fellowship at The Skin Institute of South Florida in Coral Springs, Florida, under the tutelage of Dr. Eli Saleeby, M.D., one of Frederic Mohs' original fellows, and Dr. Eduardo Weiss, M.D., one of South Florida's most accomplished dermatologic and cosmetic surgeons.
Dr. Gomez-Meade is a fellow of the American Osteopathic College of Dermatology, a member of the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery, American College of Mohs Surgery, American Academy of Dermatology, American Osteopathic Association, Texas Medical Association and the Travis County Medical Society.
Through his extensive training in dermatology and Mohs Micrographic Surgery, Dr. Gomez-Meade has developed a passion for the meticulous removal of skin cancer and the surgical reconstruction involved with Mohs surgery and cutaneous surgical oncology. Above all, Dr. Gomez-Meade thrives in his personable approach to his patients and attention to the overall patient experience.
