Dr. Brian Rundall is a cardiac surgeon that specializes in the surgical healing of cardiovascular and heart ailments. These could include ischemic, rheumatic, valvular, or congenital heart disease, endocarditis and atherosclerosis. Dr. Rundall may carry out types of procedures such as surgical implantation of pacemakers and defibrillators, heart valve repair, heart transplant surgery, or coronary artery bypass.
Following rigorous and lengthy training, thoracic surgeons are uniquely qualified to perform complex surgeries on the chest, or thorax as it is sometimes called. Their focus is usually on the lungs, esophagus, and other areas of the chest, and may also include the heart.
