Dr. Parsley attended Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas were he received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. He then earned his M.D from the University of Texas Medical School in Houston, Texas. Dr. Parsley performed his general surgery internship and orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Texas Medical School. He was awarded a Reconstructive Total Joint Arthroplasty Fellowship from the Anderson Orthopedic Research Institute and the National Hospital for Orthopedics and Rehabilitation in Arlington, Virginia. Dr. Parsley is certified by the State Board of Medical Examiners and the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He is also licensed to practice medicine in Texas and Virginia.
Brian S. Parsley's medical practice is devoted to the diagnosis and treatment of arthritis, a disease process which presently affects more than 38 million people across the country. In addition, he specializes in the treatment of problems of the hip and knee in both the young and the old. Dr. Parsley is a Clinical Associate Professor at Baylor College of Medicine/Dept of Orthopedic Surgery. He is the Director of the Adult Reconstruction Fellowship Training Program for Baylor College of Medicine. He is also a consultant with Conformis which is a company that has patented technology to design and manufacture custom knee replacements, a technology Dr. Parsley utilizes in his practice. Dr. Parsley's professional memberships include the Engh Society, the Houston Orthopaedic Society, the Harris County Medical Society, the Orthopaedic Research and Education HOSH, the Texas Medical Association, the Texas Orthopaedic Association, the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons, where he serves as President in 2013-14, and the Association of Joint Arthroplasty Surgeons. In addition, he is very active in a number of charities including the Museum of Health and Medical Science, the Arthritis HOSH/South Texas Chapter and the Faith In Practice Medical Missions Organization.Dr. Parsley is a native Texan, born and raised in Houston with a large family of nine brothers and sisters. He is the proud father of four beautiful daughters.
