Dr. Ashraf Sakr is a fellowship trained Interventional Pain Management Specialist. He is double board certified in Pain Management and Anesthesiology. Dr. Sakr is currently Clinical Assistant Professor of Anesthesia and Pain Management at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School-Rutgers University where he plays an integral role in shaping the training of the pain management fellowship program.
Dr. Sakr has numerous research studies and publications in anesthesia and pain management and has presented in multiple anesthesia and pain conferences. Dr. Sakr is credited with training over 20 pain management fellows over the last 10 years.He was also the director of Pain Management Service at Southern Ocean Medical Center.
In addition to his Clinical Assistant Professorship at RWJ Medical School-Rutgers University, Dr. Sakr performs advanced and minimally invasive interventional pain management procedures at Spine Institute of North America.
Dr. Sakr completed his residency training in general surgery in Egypt where he obtained a Master’s Degree in general surgery. After completing his surgery training, he completed his internship in OB/GYN at Flushing Medical Center in Flushing, New York. He then completed his residency in anesthesia at UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Brunswick, NJ followed by completion of his pain management fellowship training at the NJ Pain Institute at UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Brunswick, NJ.
Dr. Sakr enjoys bicycling, traveling and exploring different cultures and cuisines with his wife and three children.
