Dr. Pirouz is a board certified ophthalmologist with subspecialty in the medical and surgical management of vitreoretinal diseases with particular emphasis in age related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, ocular tumors, retinopathy of prematurity, and inherited diseases of the retina.
Dr. Pirouz received his Bachelor degree in Biological Sciences at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) where he graduated as a Summa Cum Laude. He obtained his medical degree at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. He then completed his ophthalmology residency at the Gaven Herbert Eye Institute at University of California, Irvine where he served as chief resident. Dr. Pirouz then completed his vitreo-retinal fellowship at the Shiley Eye Center at University of California, San Diego.
Dr. Pirouz has authored numerous papers in the peer-reviewed ophthalmology literature and participated in various clinical trials.
