Dr. Hernandez received his medical degree from the University of Texas School of Medicine at San Antonio, and completed his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at Louisiana State University in New Orleans, Louisiana. He returned to El Paso, Texas, where he has been practicing as an orthopaedic surgeon since 1987. Dr. Hernandez is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
Dr. Hernandez is the Team Doctor for the El Paso Rhinos Hockey Team (2008-Present) and one of the unofficial team physicians for the El Paso Chihuahuas (2014-2017 seasons). He is licensed in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, and Louisiana.
