Dr. Alexandra Eidelwein is a board certified pediatric gastroenterologist with more than ten years of experience. She completed her pediatric residency at the University of Loma Linda in California, followed by a three-year fellowship in pediatric gastroenterology at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in Maryland. Dr. Eidelwein specializes in the treatment of patients with gastrointestinal disorders, including gastroesophageal reflux (GER), autoimmune enteropathy, eosinophilic esophagitis and gastroenteritis, pancreatic and liver diseases, celiac disease, and inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). Although Dr. Eidelwein provides comprehensive gastrointestinal (GI) services, she has a special interest in Crohn’s Disease and ulcerative colitis, and special needs children with GI issues. She is also one of the few pediatric gastroenterologists in South Florida to perform capsule endoscopy, a non-invasive procedure used to evaluate disorders of the small bowel, including Crohn’s disease, celiac disease, tumors and occult Gl bleeding.
