Bio
Dr. Ajay Gupta graduated from Wayne State University School of Medicine before completing a residency in General Surgery at St. Joseph Mercy Ann Arbor. He then completed a fellowship in Cardiothoracic Surgery at University of Texas Health Science Center.
Dr. Gupta has one office in Michigan where he specializes in Thoracic Surgery and Cardiothoracic Surgery.
Dr. Gupta works with three doctors including Dr. Kumari Adams and Dr. Andrew Pruitt.

Thoracic Surgery
Following rigorous and lengthy training, thoracic surgeons are uniquely qualified to perform complex surgeries on the chest, or thorax as it is sometimes called. Their focus is usually on the lungs, esophagus, and other areas of the chest, and may also include the heart. As such, Dr. Gupta may see patients in Michigan for a wide range of surgeries, for example removing cancer causing tumors from the esophagus and chest wall, or even a lung transplant.

Cardiothoracic surgery is a highly specialized field of medicine that incorporates surgical procedures to treat diseases or trauma to the organs and structures of the chest – including the heart, lungs and esophagus. Dr. Gupta may perform both minimally invasive or invasive procedures ranging from angioplasty to open heart surgery or transplant surgeries.
