Originally from Attleboro, Massachusetts, Dr. Shah received his medical degree from the University of Medicine & Dentistry of New Jersey. After completing a surgical internship from Tufts Medical Center, Dr. Shah completed his residency in orthopaedic surgery from the same institution. From there, he underwent a fellowship in orthopaedic sports medicine at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. Dr. Shah has three offices in Massachusetts.
Specializing in the field of Orthopedic Surgery, Dr. Shah is prepared to treat a wide range of injuries to the musculoskeletal system, which includes the bones, joints, muscles, ligaments and tendons, in either a non-surgical or surgical manner, resorting to surgery when all other treatment methods have been exhausted or ruled out. Additionally, Dr. Shah is trained to diagnose a range of musculoskeletal conditions, such as fractures or sprains. Dr. Shah is also trained to practice Sports Medicine.
Dr. Shah works with six doctors including Dr. Sean Rockett and Dr. Arthur Christiano.
As an orthopedic surgeon in Massachusetts, Dr. Shah is trained to detect and treat all forms of damage to the musculoskeletal system, including the tendons, ligaments, joints, bones, and muscles. Once a diagnosis has been achieved, Dr. Shah will typically resort to surgery when other treatment plans have been exhausted or eliminated. Patients may require the attention of an orthopedic surgeon for sports injuries, sprains, torn ligaments, fractures, and more.
Sports medicine physicians are trained to provide treatment and prevention plans for those participating in sports and related physical activities. Dr. Shah is trained to treat complications such as muscle tears and strains, concussions, tendon and ligament damage, shin splints, sports hernias, fractures, and a variety of others. Treatments may include rehabilitation services, therapies and a variety of surgical operations, among others.
