How Much do Cellfina™ Treatments Typically Cost?

We know that many women have cellulite and most of them hate it, but in their search for a long-lasting solution, they end up finding only short term fixes. But now there is Cellfina, it’s the only minimally invasive procedure that is FDA cleared to improve the appearance of cellulite for 2 years. Many patients want to know: How exactly does it work, and how much do Cellfina treatments typically cost?

What Is Cellulite?

Most people believe that cellulite is the result of excess fat, but that’s not so. Even slim, fit people who exercise regularly and eat the right foods, are bothered by cellulite. That’s the reason why finding an effective treatment for it has been such a challenge over the years.

Cellulite is the dimpling or puckering of the skin, which is caused by problems in the layers of the skin below the surface. The skin is attached to the muscle by fibrous bands of tissue. However fat sometimes develops between these bands, and puts added pressure on the skin, and the bands pull the skin downward, resulting in cellulite dimples.

What Is Cellfina™?

Cellfina is a minimally invasive treatment that is designed to improve the appearance of cellulite. Cellfina uses a combination of advanced technology and subcision to treat cellulite. It is an in-office procedure that is done under local anesthesia. Treatment time is 45 minutes.

How Cellfina™ Works

The areas to be treated are first marked, and anesthesia is administered. The specialized Cellfina handpiece is then placed over the targeted areas. The device has a small blade and a vacuum window. The window allows the physician to clearly see the area being treated, as the blade applies repeated pressure to the fibrous bands of tissue, until they are released.

When these bands are released the skin bounces back to its normal position. The skin becomes smoother after a few days, and improvements will continue over the following months. Most patients experience only minimal pain during the procedure, and this usually occurs at the start before the area becomes numb.

There is no downtime after the procedure, so patients can resume their normal activities after treatment.

Is Cellfina™ Safe?

Clinical studies were conducted with Cellfina prior before the treatment was given FDA approval. Patients who participated in the study did not report any serious side-effects. Tenderness and bruising were the most common side-effects, but these are temporary and generally resolve within 2-4 weeks.

Why Cellfina™ Is Different

Cellfina is not like any other treatment for cellulite, because it clears the underlying cause, in order to achieve long lasting results. Other cellulite solutions produce only temporary results, but the improvements achieved with Cellfina last for up to 2 years.

How Much Do Cellfina™ Treatments Cost?

The cost of Cellfina will vary depending on the extent of the area that needs to be treated. It will therefore be influenced by the number of dimples being treated on the thighs and buttocks. The cost will also vary based on the region in which you live. In general, the cost of Cellfina may range from $3,000 – $6,000. However, it is best to consult with your doctor for an accurate cost.

What To Expect

The treated areas will be bandaged, and patients may be asked to wear a compression garment. The compression garment will help to minimize swelling. It is also advisable to rest for the first 24 hours after Cellfina treatment, so it’s best to take at least one day off work. Most patients see real results within 3 days of Cellfina treatment.

Are You a Good Candidate?

Cellfina is a good solution for individuals bothered by moderate to severe cellulite dimples. People considering the procedure should also be healthy and reasonably fit.

If you are contemplating Cellfina, then be sure to consult with a qualified, board certified plastic surgeon or dermatologist. They will be able to do a proper evaluation, and determine if Cellfina is an appropriate treatment for you.
