William M. Figlesthaler, M.D. is a cum laude alumnus of Wake Forest University and graduated with honors from the University of North Carolina School of Medicine at Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
Dr. Figlesthaler completed his Urological Surgery training at the University of Kentucky, Albert B. Chandler Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky. He has published research on prostate cancer in cooperation with Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, Maryland and has given numerous presentations at both regional and national conferences.
He has expertise in all areas of urology, including the evaluation and treatment of kidney stones and tumors, hematuria, bladder control problems and cancer, female urogynecological problems such as prolapse, cystocele, rectocele and vaginal rejuvenation. He also performs no scalpel vasectomies and vasectomy reversals, as well as treats prostate enlargement (BPH), erectile dysfunction and hormone replacement. He is a minimally-invasive surgeon, performing nearly all of his surgeries using laser and laparoscopic techniques, as well as robotic surgery using the da Vinci® robotic surgical system.
