Vikram A. Kumar, MD, FAANS, of Arizona Neurosurgery & Spine Specialists, located in Phoenix, Peoria, and Mesa, Arizona, earned his bachelor’s degree in biochemical sciences from Harvard University, before proceeding to a medical degree through the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. Dr. Kumar completed his residency in neurosurgery at the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. Dr. Kumar received additional training in neurosurgical oncology while at Baylor’s MD Anderson Cancer Center. He served as Chief Resident of Neurological Surgery during his time at Baylor. Dr. Kumar’s specialized interests include complex spinal surgery, tumors, cerebrovascular disorders, and neurotrauma. In addition to his role at ANSS, Dr. Kumar is the Section Chief of Neurosurgery and sits on the board of the Division of Neurosciences at Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center. He is board certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgery and licensed by the Arizona Medical Board.
