Dr. Shirley Sawai graduated from University of South Florida College of Medicine in 1985 before completing a residency in OBGYN / Obstetrics & Gynecology at University of South Florida College of Medicine in Tampa, FL from 1985 to 1989. She then completed a fellowship in Maternal and Fetal Medicine at University of South Florida College of Medicine from 1989 to 1991.
