My son is a competitive gymnast and Dr. Rand is his primary care doctor. He is very thorough and easy to understand. I love how he tells you all the possible scenarios in regard to an injury and explains the details of each. He talks directly to my son and treats him respectfully. His nurses are great too!!

About Dr. Rand

Bio


Dr. Scott Rand is a Primary Care Sports Medicine (PCSM) physician, who is board certified in family medicine with a certificate of added qualifications (CAQ) in sports medicine. He is the director of the Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship program at Methodist Willowbrook - one of just two such accredited PCSM programs of its kind in the greater Houston area and one of only 111 around the country.

Dr. Rand is also the director of the new Methodist Human Performance Lab, which provides valuable training data for endurance athletes as well as those working to sustain weight loss and optimal health.

His practice focuses on the overall medical care, concussion management, and nonoperative orthopedic care of athletes and active people of all ages. He is recognized as a national leader in PCSM education and co-chairs an education testing subcommittee within the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine (AMSSM). He is an avid speaker and coauthor of the recently published AMSSM’s Sports Medicine CAQ Study Guide.

Dr. Rand is an assistant professor at Weill Cornell Medical College and a consulting team physician for many area high schools, club sports, running groups and a team physician for Rice University.
