Dr. Bell is an orthopaedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine, arthroscopy and general orthopaedics.Dr. Bell grew up in San Antonio and graduated from Tom C. Clark High School where he was the team captain of both the swimming and water polo teams. Following high school, he graduated from the United States Naval Academy with distinction. At the Academy, he played Division I water polo, was team captain and was named an Academic All American in water polo. Dr. Bell returned to Texas and received his medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, Texas.Following medical school, he completed an internship in surgery at the Naval Medical Center San Diego and was selected as the Surgical Intern of the Year. Dr. Bell then went on to complete the Navy Diving Medical Officer program as the Honor Graduate in Groton, Connecticut and Panama City, Florida and was subsequently appointed as the medical department head, in charge of medical care for Navy SEAL training at the Naval Special Warfare Center BUD/S in Coronado, California. He then returned to Naval Medical Center San Diego where he completed his orthopaedic surgery training. His residency experience included sports medicine, joint reconstruction, hand surgery and trauma training at both the University of California San Diego and Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, Washington.

After residency, Dr. Bell was the Director of Surgical Services and Orthopaedic Surgeon at the Naval Base in Rota, Spain. He then returned to Texas and spent three and a half years practicing sports medicine and general orthopaedics with the Navy in Corpus Christi, Texas. Dr. Bell is board certified in Orthopaedic Surgery and has additional subspecialty certification in Orthopaedic Sports Medicine.

Dr. Bell has a special interest in sports injuries, minimally invasive total hip replacement (direct anterior approach), and arthroscopic surgery of the knee, hip, shoulder, and ankle.

Dr. Bell was named in SA Scene's list of SA Doctors: Best of 2014.
