I was an athlete and knew I would be paying for my "Gumby Moves" and wear and tear eventually. I had two knee surgeries and needed a hip replacement. All right side. Finally, after several years of suffering and inability to walk without chronic pain, limited, I decided I had endured enough. My husband and I searched for the perfect surgeon. We found Dr. James Dowd. I was really afraid but knew this surgery was necessary. ...I was walking the day of surgery, I was going up stairs on the second day......going on ten wks post op......life is good! I wake and rise without pain, I move, twist, turn and bend without pain. If it's cold and rainy and I have no pain. I am grateful, fortunate, but I use my common sense. I am not trying to do a back flip as I did at 18, but I am enjoying life with my husband again. Overall all.....Dr is great. Staff is on the ball, PT was very helpful, life is good.
