Bio


Gwendolyn Patterson Cobbs has been named one of America’s Top OB/GYNs every year since 2008. As a provider of Capital Women’s Care in Arlington, Virginia, Dr. Cobbs enjoys empowering women to care for their bodies through all stages of life. After earning her bachelor’s degree in biology from Goucher College in Towson, Maryland, Dr. Cobbs completed her medical degree at Georgetown University Medical School, where she received the Sarah E. Stewart leadership award. Dr. Cobbs continued to complete her residency training in obstetrics and gynecology at Georgetown University’s Medical Center. Dr. Cobbs is a skilled gynecologic surgeon who is well-trained in laparoscopic and hysteroscopic techniques. She specializes in a variety of gynecologic concerns, including infertility, endometriosis, fibroids, HPV, contraception, and pregnancy. In addition to seeing patients, Dr. Cobbs is a clinical instructor at Georgetown University Medical School as well as the physician assistant programs at James Madison University and Shenandoah University. Passionate about giving back to the community, Dr. Cobbs founded and presided over Genesis Food Pantry, Inc. from 1997-2011, an organization that helped feed families in the Washington D.C. metro area. She’s also partnered with Birthmothers, a faith-based nonprofit organization focused on crisis pregnancy and performed mission work in Haiti and South Africa. In her free time, Dr. Cobbs can be found enjoying outdoor activities with her three sons
