Gregory Helton, MD earned his MD from the James H. Quillen College of Medicine at East Tennessee State, was ranked 2nd in his graduating class and received the Special Dean's Scholarship Award. Dr. Helton completed his residency at the University of North Carolina Hospital where he constributed to publications and teaching sessions. He is currently a member of the American Psychiatric Association and the North Carolina Psychiatric Association. Dr. Helton is currently treating patients aged 18 and up at our Durham, NC Shannon Road office, and specializes in medication management for substance abuse, mood/psychotic disorders, anxiety, and depression.
Psychiatrists are primary care physicians for the mind. Dr. Helton specializes in treating the general mental well-being in patients, capable of identifying and treating the assorted sorts of psychological illness.
