Dr. David S. Michelson was born in Baltimore and raised in La Jolla, California. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Yale University, graduating Magna Cum Laude. He received his medical degree from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.
Following an internal medicine internship at Johns Hopkins University Sina Hopsital of Baltimore, he completed a three year residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Parkland Memorial Hospital, Dallas. He is on the staff of Scripps Memorial Hospital in La Jolla and teaches eye surgery at the University of San Diego School of Medicine.
Dr. Michelson has experience in all aspects of general Ophthamology, including formal residency training in LASIK and refractive surgery. At Eye Care of La Jolla, Dr. Michelson practices comprehensive ophthamology with special interests in Laser Vision Correction, small incision cataract surgery, dry eye disorders, glaucoma management, and diabetic eye care.
As an ophthalmologist in CA, Dr. David Michelson is trained to diagnose, treat, and manage diseases or trauma of the eye. Dr. Michelson may treat conditions such as glaucoma, corneal tumors, cataracts, retinal disorders, conjunctivitis, astigmatism and ocular tumors.
