AvailableWent in to the VA for an cystoscopy one afternoon and while on the table ( and without prior discussion ) ended up with a catheterization. I not only did not want this installed ( which was extremely painful ) but 3 days later developed a UTI and Urethritis and ended up going into the ED for care. After taking and the medication prescribed by ED, I had the catheter removed 3 days later. Then I went through extreme difficulty and pain urinating the next 2 days until I went to a local MASH care unit on the Saturday. They gave me a script for pyridium to alleviate some of the pain when urinating. I returned to have a ultrasound in ED on Tuesday. On Wednesday, I had my post op discussion with Dr. Houjaij. He wanted me to have a surgical procedure done to my bladder, no later than Monday of the following week. I opted to obtain a second opinion, which I obtained the following Wednesday. I was told that I did not have any serious abnormalities which required any surgical procedure by a highly regarded Urologist in Buffalo. I will not allow Dr. Houjaij to ever lay hands on me again.
